Still the True Gospel

subscription_3.jpg

No, otherwise the priest would not have been pointing to her children and grandchildren, the priest would have pointed her to Christ.
The priest knew that she was already oriented to Christ and merely consoled her with that which Scripture says. We will be judged according to our works (Rev 22:12-15) and women are saved in child bearing (1 Tim 2:15).

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us,
Philippians 2:12

King James Version (KJV)

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Rom 5: 8 "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life."
Hebrews 5:9

King James Version (KJV)

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

There is NO COMFORT to be found trying to rest on our own works in the context of eternity - our works may turn out to be wood, hay and stubble. Why did she receive no comfort from the priest pointing to her children and grandchildren? Because she KNEW her children and grandchildren better than did the priest.
God knows her better than anyone. And it is He who judges her. All that I'm telling you and what the priest was telling her, is that she has every reason to hope in her salvation:
Psalm 119:81

King James Version (KJV)

81 My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

The ONLY COMFORT to be found in the context of eternity is through trusting in Christ Jesus and HIS sacrifice.
And His promises:
1 Thessalonians 5:7-9

King James Version (KJV)

For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Rom 3: 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.
Romans 2:1-13

King James Version (KJV)

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

You have totally misconstrued this Scripture.

There are not two modes or options of salvation - Jesus or childbearing.
Your problem is that you cast aside any Scripture with which you disagree. But Scripture is clear. Faith alone is dead.

James 2:17

King James Version (KJV)

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Sincerely,

De Maria
