Traditions are not necessary?

Continuing education link.gif

Hi Lutero,

You said:

To get to heaven..- Scripture is all “sufficient” and the only requirement.

Provide the verse which says that in Scripture.  Meantime,  this is what Scripture says:

Scripture says we need to keep the Traditions (2 Thess 2:15).
Scripture says we need to obey they who spoke to us the Word of God (Heb 13:7).

And Scripture says we need to listen to the Church (Matt 18:17).

Traditions are not necessary.

Whether they are necessary or not, is not the question.   SCRIPTURE commands us to hold the Traditions.
2 Thessalonians 2:15
King James Version (KJV)
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

And one of those Traditions which Scripture tells us to hold to, is the Mass, the Christian Assembly:
Hebrews 10:25-31
King James Version (KJV)
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,  27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.  28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:  29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?  30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.  31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

You don't understand this verse because you deny that the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.  But what this says is that those who call themselves Christian and neglect to celebrate the Mass, tread underfoot the Body of Christ and treat His Blood, which He sacrificed on the Cross, as something unholy.  And have thus insulted the Holy Spirit.  Do you know what that means?

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

That is a beautiful verse.  We should all live by it.

Sincerely,

De Maria
