Hallelujah! We will have two Popes!

Folks, no one can resign from being Pope.  I know that I will always remember Pope Benedict the XVI as Pope Benedict.  What this move amounts to is the Holy Spirit, working in mysterious ways to give us a reminder of the beginnings of the Catholic Church.

As I see it, God has found another man worthy of leading the Church.  And He can't bear for him to be concealed anymore.  Not only that, but this is very reminiscent of the birth of the Church in Rome.

Do you remember that the Church was built upon the efforts of two great Apostles?  Sts. Peter and Paul.  We celebrate their feast every year.

For perhaps the first time in history we will have two Popes in Rome.  An acting Pope and a retired Pope to whom many can turn for advise and guidance.

But now, let's turn to Scripture.

Revelation 11:3
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

We will have two witnesses.  The first, Pope Benedict has already announced that he wants to "With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Churchof God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer."

That means that Pope Benedict is already planning to put on the sack cloth.  He retires in the midst of Lent.

So, folks, the next three years are going to be exciting.  Continue to pray for the Church and especially pray THANKSGIVING to God that we will enter this new era bolstered by the presence of not one, but TWO Popes.  Truly the wisdom of God is beyond man's comprehension!

Sincerely,

De Maria

  1. I was wondering if anybody besides myself saw the parallel between the two Popes and the two Witnesses.

    1. It is awesome to consider. The two witnesses have the power to shut heaven. I see a parallel there with Elijah. Wnose prayers were so powerful that God would do whatever he asked:
      James t:
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

I certainly believe that Pope Benedict is such a person. And there is another waiting in the wings to join him. The Holy Spirit will soon identify him for us.
