CHAPTER II.
That the Sacrifice of the Mass is propitiatory both for the living and the dead. And forasmuch as, in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the mass, that same Christ is contained and immolated in an unbloody manner, who once offered Himself in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross; the holy Synod teaches, that this sacrifice is truly propritiatory and that by means thereof this is effected, that we obtain mercy, and find grace in seasonable aid, if we draw nigh unto God, contrite and penitent, with a sincere heart and upright faith, with fear and reverence.

Thank you, probably read that before. I always thought immolated meant burned. Learned something today.

Not really. The fellow you just spoke to says that "we" immolate Him as though we sacrifice Him on the Cross. We don't. 

Read the statement again:

Since you are a Lutheran, you believe that the Real Presence of Jesus is contained in the Eucharist, do you not?

Did you put Him there? Of course not. He is there by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the same way, the Eucharist is the sacrifice of Calvary. We don't sacrifice Jesus. He was sacrificed by the Jews and the Romans on Calvary. We participate in that self same sacrifice which occurred 2000 years ago by immolating (offering the sacrifice in the APPEARANCE OF Bread and Wine) in remembrance of Christ.
