Disco says:
They pass the buck to others to tell them what to believe, convince themselves they can't be wrong, and then feel secure. But they're not secure.
What does the Scripture say on that matter?
Philippians 2:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
1 Corinthians 10:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
And the idea that if you follow a heretic leader that teaches blasphemies God will hold that leader responsible and not you is just another way they try to make themselves feel secure and not have to make decisions on what's true or what's not.
That is you arguing against something you made up. I have yet to see the Church teach that doctrine. But if you claim it is true, provide the official doctrine from Church documents.
God WILL hold them responsible for following false teachers and teachings that clearly contradict His word. I wish I could find that quote.
God will hold Protestants responsible for following false teachings and false teachers:
2 Timothy 4:3
King James Version (KJV)
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Tell me when you, as a Protestant, obey this verse?
Hebrews 13:17Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
As far as I can see, most Protestants don't even know that verse is in the Bible. That is why the continually berate Catholics for submitting to the Sacrament of Confession which this verse describes. And also for accepting the authority of the Priests which this verse also confirms. But Protestants completely ignore this verse, as they do many others in Scripture.
And how about this one?
James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
The Protestant doctrine of faith alone directly contradicts that verse of Scripture.
Yeah, it is Protestants who follow false teachers and will be held accountable to God for their errors.
Sincerely,
De Maria
