St. Paul is himself unmarried

He that is unmarried
cares for the things that belong to the Lord
How he may please the Lord

Lutero:

Yet you take a suggestion--
Exactly.
a suggestion that Paul himself later said was not practical for everyone (1 Cor 7:9)
So did Jesus:

Matthew 19:11-12
King James Version (KJV)
11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

--and turn it into a commandment.
Really? When?  The Church calls it a discipline.

At the same time, you ignore other commandments also purportedly from Paul (1 Tim 3:2,12; Titus 1:5-9).

The passages in Titus and 1 Timothy indicate that one who is not married is not eligible to be a bishop or a deacon at all.
And thus did St. Paul disqualify himself?

1 Cor 7:8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I.

9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

We don't read the Scriptures in a vacuum. If St. Paul is himself unmarried then he would hardly disqualify an unmarried man from being a Leader in the Church in any capacity.

1 Timothy 4:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Sincerely,

De Maria
