7 QT's on the Sacraments

CCC#1127 Celebrated worthily in faith, the sacraments confer the grace that they signify. They are efficacious because in them Christ himself is at work: ….

Genesis 15:6 And (Abraham) believed in the Lord; and He counted it to him for righteousness.

When we approach the Sacraments, we proclaim that we believe God's promises.  And He counts it to us as righteousness.

Romans 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

When we approach the Sacrament of Confession, God pours His grace into our souls and forgives us of our sins.

Matthew 9:27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.

When we approach the Sacraments of grace, we are calling upon Christ to pour His mercy upon us.

Matthew 15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil….28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

When we present our children for Baptism, we are presenting to Christ that He may remove the devil from their souls.

Mark 10:8
And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

When we eat the Flesh and drink the Blood of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist, we become one flesh with our Lord.  One body in Christ.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

When we approach the Sacraments, Christ pour the Holy Spirit into our souls and our sins are washed away.

1084 "Seated at the right hand of the Father" and pouring out the Holy Spirit on his Body which is the Church, Christ now acts through the sacraments he instituted to communicate his grace. The sacraments are perceptible signs (words and actions) accessible to our human nature. By the action of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit they make present efficaciously the grace that they signify.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

DO NOT take God for granted.  If you do not believe in Christ.  If you don't believe in His promises.  It is better that you don't approach the Sacraments.

CCC#2120 Sacrilege consists in profaning or treating unworthily the sacraments and other liturgical actions, as well as persons, things, or places consecrated to God. Sacrilege is a grave sin especially when committed against the Eucharist, for in this sacrament the true Body of Christ is made substantially present for us.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,  27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.  28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:  29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?  30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
