Work out salvation

Lutero:
10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach.
Where does that say we shouldn't attempt to save ourselves. In fact it says:

For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach,

There is nothing there about not attempting to save ourselves.  Nothing there about faith alone.

In fact, it is an explicitly Catholic Teaching. We are saved by faith (trust in the living God) and works (For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach,).

Sincerely,

De Maria
