Man is primarily justified by the "faith OF Christ". Then when man places his "faith IN Christ" and his blood for the forgiveness of sins (Romans 3:24-26), God justifies the man with his righteousness because of the "faith OF Christ" (Romans 3:22, Galatians 2:16, Philippians 3:9). Man cannot and will not be justified by his faith alone, but realizing it is by the "faith OF Christ" that provides the means of justification - see Romans 1:17.
