One of the things which Protestants take for granted is that Jesus did not write any Scriptures. He established a Church (Matt 16:18) and commanded that Church to pass down His Traditions (Matt 28:20).
The Church then proceeded to write the New Testament in order to enhance and assist in the Great Commission of passing down Christ's Traditions to all generations.
Therefore, the Traditions of Jesus Christ are the foundation of the New Testament. Unless you know the Traditions, you will have a very difficult time understanding the New Testament.
And the best way to learn these Traditions is to learn them from the Catholic Church.
Sincerely,
De Maria
