Error - Protestants say, "Before Abraham did anything, he was made righteous by faith."

Protestants frequently say that we need no longer do anything to be saved. They claim, for example, that Abraham was saved before he did anything. Then, the question is, what happened between Gen 12 and Gen 15 or 22, whichever you prefer as the point of Abraham's justification? Was that just filler in the Old Testament? By no means! Here is something better to use against protest-ants and it's straight from the Psalms that they so often love to quote:

Psalm 106: 30 Then Phinehas stood up and interposed, and the plague was stayed. 31 And that has been reckoned to him as righteousness from generation to generation for ever.

And how about Romans 10:8* But what does it say? The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach); 9* because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved.

  2. And what about this one?

1 Peter 22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart.

  3. And what about this one?

1 Peter 3:1 Likewise you wives, be submissive to your husbands, so that some, though they do not obey the word, may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see your reverent and chaste behavior. 3 Let not yours be the outward adorning with braiding of hair, decoration of gold, and wearing of fine clothing, 4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 5 So once the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves and were submissive to their husbands, 6* as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are now her children if you do right and let nothing terrify you.

  4. There's tons. It is the teaching of Scripture from beginning to end.

    1. Well, as long as they selectively ignore Scripture then of course they will never see it.
