God gave the Church authority on this earth.

God doesn't tell anyone to dole out penance when someone asks for forgiveness.
REPENTANCE is not PENANCE...learn the difference.
But "doing works meet for repentance" is the definition of penance.
Nor am I interested in your shredding of God's word.
