A Catholic in another thread says this verse means he will pick and choose when he will obey his bishop and when he will not.
I follow the Church. Not individual Catholics who may or may not understand their faith.
Are we supposed to be impressed?
By what? By certain individuals? You are supposed to be impressed by the Word of God carried in Scripture and Tradition (2 Thess 2:15) and you are supposed to be so impressed that you obey God in that Word (Heb 5:9).
Sorry, but that verse says absolutely nothing about any sacrament or anything about confession.
It is because you don't understand the Traditions of Jesus Christ that you don't recognize the Sacrament of Confession which is there illustrated.
It is in the Sacrament of Confession most explicitly that we submit to and obey the Priests.
It is in the Sacrament of Confession most explicitly that the Priest is held accountable for our souls.
But you are ignoring the question. When do you, as a Protestant, obey this verse? More likely, you toss it out of the Scriptures and ignore it, since you are taught to follow no man and obey no man.
We know you guys like to make up tons of garbage as you go, but this one takes the cake.
That verse is in Scripture, the Word of God. When do you obey it?
