Lutero
I walk with the LORD every day.

So you do work out your salvation? Are you earning your way to heaven then?

Are you afraid to sin?
Whether I sin or not is between God and myself.

Do you fear what happens when sin goes unrepented of? But lets look at the whole passage and see why Paul said that, shall we.
I repent of any and all sins. Do you go without repenting of yours?

Interesting passage. Especially in light of the fact that the whole point is in recognizing who JESUS is and what HE DID for us and IN LIGHT OF THAT, he goes on.
Php 2:1 (KJV) If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Excellent! When we work, it is God working in and through us to accomplish His will.

Do you see now why works are so important?

So because of WHO JESUS is and what HE has done, wherefore..... And please note the next verse, IT IS GOD who does the work in us to will and to do of HIS GOOD PLEASURE. Knowing that it is God working in us through the power of the Holy Spirit, we should be watching our p's and q's.
Again, do you see why it is so important to work? Because unless we work, God's work will not be accomplished. God works through us!

Because...
Eph 4:17 (KJV) This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.20 But ye have not so learned Christ;21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:27 Neither give place to the devil.28 Let him that stole steal no more:

Do you realize that St. Paul just enumerated the Ten Commandments? Do not lie, do not steal, do not murder (i.e. wrath; raka),....

but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

....love your neighbor and do good to him.....
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
And preach the good news.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Sin no more and thereby avoid grieving the Holy Spirit of God.

St. Paul just enumerated the Ten Commandments and enjoined you to keep them. But you want to turn it around and claim that he is preaching faith alone???!!!

If and when we grieve the HOLY SPIRIT the LORD will chasten us as a father chastens his children. IF HE didn't we would not know how much HE loves us.
That is how He purifies our soul. He continues purifying our soul until it is pure enough to enter heaven. And if it isn't pure enough when we die, He continues purifying it in Purgatory.

Oh and by the way, there is NO FEAR in love, perfect love casts out all fear. And ONLY GOD'S LOVE IS PERFECT,
Think about that.  Only God's love is perfect.  Therefore, yours is not.  Therefore you have not cast out all fear.

and when by the HOLY SPIRIT HE indwells us, HE casts away those fears we would normally have, and urges us to Press on toward the mark of the high calling IN CHRIST JESUS.
But if you have not achieved that perfection yet:
Philippians 3:12

King James Version (KJV)

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Don't give up, but persevere until you do:
Matthew 24:13

King James Version (KJV)

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

THAT is the complete Gospel.

Sincerely,

De Maria
