non-Catholic Christians in the same boat

Cathy said:
It is really impossible to lump all non-Catholic Christians in the same boat. The Lutherans disagree with the Baptists about Baptism and the Eucharist. The Presbyterians disagree with the Methodists about Predestination and Free Will. The Baptists disagree with most Protestants about Infant Baptism. Pentecostals and Charismatics of many denominational bents disagree with Evangelcals everywhere about the supernatural Gifts of the Spirit. Protestants all over the waterfront disagree with each other regarding Church Government. It sounds more like a flotilla than a single boat.
I don't mean to disagree with you, you are correct in what you say. And of course, there are the Orthodox and the other ancient rites which agree almost completely with Catholic Teaching but don't submit to the Pope.

However, I believe we can lump the Protestants together in this sense. They all disagree with the Catholic Church. That rebellion is the cement which binds them together. Notice how everyone of them, no matter how vehemently they disagree with each other, will join together against the Catholic Church.

What do you think?

Angel responded:
In truth, Protestants disagree both with the Catholic Church and with each other....
And yet, have you ever run across those who claim that they all agree about the MAIN DOCTRINES? When I've asked them to produce a list of those doctrines which they all agree upon, they falter. Because some of them don't even believe that Jesus is God.
