Rather, Protestants should admit the inadequacy of Sola Scriptura

(continued from)

Lutero:
Your "message from Scripture"? How do you know your interpretation of any of those verses is correct?
It is in line with the Tradition of the Catholic Church.

I bet none of it rises above Catholic opinion.
The "opinion" of the Catholic Church is guaranteed to be true by the Word of God:
1 Timothy 3:15

King James Version (KJV)

15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

The moment you argue from Scripture you deny the need for a magisterium.
The moment a Protestant argues from Scripture alone, he rejects the Magisterium.

But Catholics argue from a perspective of the Word of God as passed down in Tradition, Scripture and in line with the Teaching of the Magisterium.

When you read those verses and find they support your view, you were functioning... as a Protestant. We can't take you seriously.
When I read those verses, I understood them in line with the Teaching of the Catholic Church, which is their basis.

It’s not so much that Rome denies the intelligibility and lucidity of Scripture.
That's a lie. Or if it isn't, show me from the writings of the Catholic Church.

Rather, Rome would have us believe that Scripture is only intelligible and clear to the magisterium.
That's not true either. What the Catholic Church teaches is in line with Scripture:
Acts 8:30-31

King James Version (KJV)

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Scripture is understood properly when someone guides the man of God.

2 Peter 3:16

King James Version (KJV)

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Because some things in Scripture are hard to understand.

Consequently, individual Roman Catholics such as yourself should not, as you do, appeal to Scripture to justify the Roman Catholic communion and the church’s need for the popes.
The reason why Catholics, like myself, use Scripture to explain Catholic Doctrine to Protestants, is because Protestants claim they will accept nothing else. If I turn to the Church Fathers to explain Catholic Doctrine, you and every Protestant I've ever met will object that they want to see it in Scripture. Of course, when I show them from Scripture, they object about that as well, just as you are now doing.

Rather, Roman Catholics should be consistent by simply pointing to the authority of the popes to defend the claims of the popes, and once you do that then yes, we will be at an impasse. I assure you, quoting from Scripture which is not infallibly defined is not a winning strategy for a Catholic. It makes the magisterium irrelevant.
Rather, Protestants should admit the inadequacy of Sola Scriptura to ever arrive at truth. That is the problem. Sola Scriptura makes each one of you believe you are a pope. And your pride keeps you from ever admitting your error. That is the problem.
