It is in Rev 12.Revelation 12:

1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:....5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
The Apostle John has seen a woman in heaven. This woman is the mother of the Christ. Scripture tells us that the mother of Christ is Mary:

Protest-ants like to take that passage and apply "the Woman" to the "universal Church". While that IS one of the images "the Woman" represents, The Church wasn't pregnant with the "who would rule the world with an iron rod" since the Church hadn't been established yet.
ReplyDeleteThat image can also apply to Our Blessed Mother in that her "birthing pain" is when we come into this world and we turn against Christ's Church.
Also, if protest-ants want to claim that the original "ark of the convenant" is the image seen, they need to pay attention to the words which PRECEED the image of the Woman "And behold a GREAT SIGN" - THAT to me is the biggest tell!
