You are bound to believe the Church

AT:You are not bound to obey or believe any sinner just because.....but that does not mean you cannot be wrong.  To interpret the above to mean there is no right and wrong understanding of the Word of God is foolish.
You are dodging the issue.

If I say Christ is God and He was raised from the dead....you are not bound to believe ME because I say so, but you are bound to believe God. You are bound to believe the truth....
And Scripture says that the Church teaches the Truth:
Ephesians 3:10

King James Version (KJV)

10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Therefore you are bound to believe the Church.

Matthew 18:17

King James Version (KJV)

17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Sincerely,

De Maria

  1. I think AT has a serious problem here because he shoots his/herself in the foot with this statement: "If I say Christ is God and He was raised from the dead....you are not bound to believe ME because I say so, but you are bound to believe God. You are bound to believe the truth.."

But how does one know who God is and to whom He gave authority to disclose His Teachings? Any person can go around claiming they have "The Truth" but all of them contradict each other. So which one is real and which one is false? How can AT tell us we are bound to obey and believe God when he/she can't prove to me they have the truth of God?

    Sigghhhhh.....pro-testants :-(

    1. I agree. They claim to obey Scripture. And Scripture tells them to believe the Church. But they refuse to believe the Church. Therefore, they don't obey Scripture.

That's the way I see it, anyway.
