It’s time to swing over to the largest fundraiser at POP Benefiting Outreach Ministry, Gala Evening (Oct. 19) & Golf Classic (Oct. 26)
In the last year, over 35,000 people who were in need of emotional, financial, practical, and spiritual support, were helped by Prince of Peace – directly or indirectly. Often, people in crisis found Outreach Ministry Director, Susan Gallagher, and her team to comfort them and help them get back on their feet. The services provided include: financial assistance, pregnancy support through the Gabriel Project, financial and labor assistance for supporting Habitat for Humanity, children’s gifts and food from Adopt-A-Family at Christmas, meals for the homeless at Thanksgiving and Easter, ESL Classes for people wishing to learn English, the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace classes (new at POP), and much more.
2012 Gala Evening, “Follow Your Dream!” The Great Gatsby, Friday, Oct. 19: The event this year will be held at a new and enchanting venue, The Château Cocomar. It is a fun night of food, dancing, and fellowship with parishioners and people from the community. Dinner will be catered by Raoul’s. The ever popular silent auction will tempt you with an expected 200+ items to choose from, and you don’t want to miss the live auction which always offers the unexpected. The gala is an evening for cocktail dress attire. You may even see a daring flapper or two wearing vintage attire. It’s the perfect time for ladies to pull out their little black dress (maybe a long strand of pearls) and for men to put on a tie and jacket, no tuxedo needed. And if you like golf, save some strokes for the Golf Classic, Friday, Oct. 26: Beautiful October weather is predicted for Friday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m.! Your hole-in-one will be at High Meadow Ranch with plenty of witnesses. Shirt, drink cart, and hole sponsorships are available. Foursomes are $500/$125 for a single. Bring your game and your buddies!
