Why do Catholics make such a big deal of the the Saints?

Why do Catholics make such a big deal of the the Saints?

Because God makes a big deal about the Saints.  Have you not read in Scripture?

Psalm 97:10
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of hissaints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

Jude 1:14
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Revelation 15:3
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

It is God's will that we revere the names of those faithful that came before us:
Hebrews 6:12
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Philippians 3:15-17

King James Version (KJV)
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensemble.

The Word of God in Scripture tells us to make a big deal of the Saints.

Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Sincerely,

De Maria
