Do you believe in the existence of the soul?

Recently, someone said:

The "soul" per Romanism is a catholic made up thing the word "soul" in Scripture means a person not some ethereal thing that's invisible inside ones spirit that has "stains" on it.

Jesus Christ said:

Matthew 10:28King James Version (KJV)²⁸ And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.  

Matthew 22:37
King James Version (KJV)³⁷Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

It would seem then, that we are composed of a material body which we can see and an immaterial soul which we can't see.  That, is according to Jesus.
