Saved by grace in the Sacraments - 8

De Maria
JB,
On the contrary, see Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness _which we have done_, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Notice that we have already done the works of righteousness before we are saved. Notice how this lines up with Matt 25:31-46. It is the sheep who have done the works of righteousness. They are saved. It is the goats which have not done any good works, they are condemned. But the sheep are not saved by their works of righteousness. We can't save ourselves. God saves those who obey His Word. Put it like this. Say a ship is sinking. The Coast Guard comes and says, line up on this side and we will save you. But some say, "I'll line up where ever I want. You don't have any authority over me!" Others line up and are saved. By "lining up" in obedience to the command, they did the works allowed them to be saved.
