Explain where Jesus says it is wrong to give of your material wealth for the good of the poor

Calvin:
You have just proved that the unsaved can not rightly divide scripture..

Jhn 8:43
Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word.

1Cr 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

That sword cuts both ways. But I can prove that I understand Scripture and that you don't. Now, here is what Scripture says about giving alms:

Luke 11:41

King James Version (KJV)
41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

Now, when we give money or some material gift to another in the name of God, the Word of God says that all is made clean for us. In other words, that we are forgiven of our sins. Our souls are cleansed.

We can see that this teaching is repeated several times:

Matthew 19:21

King James Version (KJV)

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

IF THOU WILT BE PERFECT. In other words, if you want to be righteous in the eyes of God. Forgiven for all your sins. Give of your material treasure to the poor.

James 1:27

King James Version (KJV)

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

There it is again. Storing treasure in heaven is precisely the definition of indulgences.

Now, its your turn. Explain where Jesus says it is wrong to give of your material wealth for the good of the poor or afflicted. Show me from Scripture.

Sincerely,

De Maria
